Abode Residential will be hosting a Cake Stand at the Avenues Open Garden Event in Hull.
More than 40 gardens are set to open to the public in the ever popular Avenues Open Gardens. Each garden has something different to offer and with lots of unique features, including bee hives, original stable blocks, an outdoor swimming pond and even a train, there are plenty of treasures to found.
Opening on Sunday, July 5th and Sunday July 12th, the Open Gardens celebrates its 39th year with a range of gardens opening to suit young and old. Encompassing the Princes, Newland and Chanterlands Avenue areas of Hull it is a wonderful event that sees local communities collaborating to allow the general public to enjoy what are usually private residences.
Last year, the event raised £8,000 for the hospice and it is hoped that with their first ever ‘Avenues Grand Raffle’, this years Open Gardens can be just as successful. With local musicians and artists helping to create ambience in the gardens, visitors can also indulge in tea, coffee, homemade cakes and scones as they explore.
The short documentary below attempts to capture the sights and sounds of the Avenues Open Gardens event and capture the spirit of the event, the beauty of the domestic gardens that populate this area, and explore why people value their green space.
